Juan Lopez-Valcarcel

The Digital Sunrise Group was founded by Juan Lopez-Valcarcel, an international executive with over 12 years experience as an entrepreneur, manager and advisor to Media and Telecom companies.
In his role as Managing Director for The Digital Sunrise Group, he oversees all investments and client work performed by the Group, sharing his expertise with European digital startups to help them succeed.
Previously, Juan was a VP in the Digital Media team at the media conglomerate NBC Universal. As part of his role at NBC, Juan was the General Manager for iVillage (the leading online portals for women with over 20 million unique visitors worldwide) and YourTotalHealth (a leading health and wellness destination).
Before joining NBC Universal, Juan was an Engagement Manager at strategy consulting firm Booz Allen in the London and New York office. As a consultant, Juan worked on more than 40 projects with clients in media, telecoms and venture capital across Europe, US and Latin America. Prior to Booz Allen, he was a pioneering digital entrepreneur in Spain, where in 1997 he launched the first local portal for Madrid at Guiamadrid.com.
Juan holds a double degree in Corporate Law and Economics from ICADE (Spain) and received an MBA from INSEAD (France). Additional information about Juan is available in his LinkedIn profile
